UBS Wealth Management Australia has announced a new strategic direction — formalising and expanding upon its philanthropic services offering.
Currently, these services are discrete and comprise managing the assets of charitable institutions and advising wealthy clients on their philanthropic objectives, such as setting up prescribed private funds, charitable endowment funds and donor advised funds.
Going forward, UBS plans to establish itself as a philanthropic platform by helping clients articulate their philanthropic vision, while deciding which themes to fund, how to fund them and how to monitor them.
To formalise the strategy, UBS has created a new role dedicated to the company’s philanthropic offering.
Former ANZ Trustees head of charitable foundations Fiona Rowland has assumed responsibility for providing philanthropic solutions to private UBS clients as well as not-for-profit organisations.
Rowland is also UBS’ head of planning.
