J.P. Morgan has announced the appointment of Jeff Urwin as chief executive for the Asia-Pacific region.
The group announced earlier this week that it had also appointed Urwin as Head of Global Investment Banking Coverage, Capital Markets and Mergers & Acquisitions.
He will be based in Hong Kong and will be responsible for overseeing all of J.P. Morgan’s strategic activities in the region, along with his current global banking responsibilities.
The company said it was the first time J.P. Morgan’s global head of investment banking will be based in the Asia-Pacific.
Urwin succeeds Gaby Abdelnour, the current head of Asia-Pacific who announced in March that he would be leaving the bank after 14 years with the firm.
