PaulClitheroe is a founding director of ipac securities. But to those outside the financial services industry, he is most widely known as the chief commentator for Channel 9’sMoneyprogram.
Clitheroe first appeared in the public eye on Sydney’s 2BL as one of the early radio investment talk show hosts, and he still has a syndicated daily money tip heard on radio stations across Australia.Making Money, his weekly newspaper column, appears in 60 regional newspapers.
He also writes a column for theSunday Telegraph, and has published several books.
His continuing and widespread presence in the industry and surrounding media has now seen Clitheroe appear inMoney Management’s most influential list for the second time.
Clitheroe was nominated for this year’s list because, according to an anonymous voter, “when Clitheroe speaks, millions listen — and act.” This opinion was supported by theMoney Managementpanel of voters, who saw Clitheroe’s media presence as a continuing influence in the industry over the last 12 months.
Panellist Nina Hope believes one of Clitheroe’s achievements in the media over the last year was “maintaining a positive and professional image”.
Bridgeport’s Robert Brown says that Clitheroe “has the knack of being able to use simple language to reach the general public”.
