Former Standard and Poor's executive managing director Tom Schiller has joined independent research agency Morningstar as it looks to expand its Asia-Pacific presence.
Tokyo-based Schiller will be responsible for managing the needs of investors in the Asia-Pacific market in the newly-created role of managing director, client solutions.
Morningstar's Australasia CEO Anthony Serhan said Schiller was a logical choice to head the expansion, given his knowledge of the region's markets.
"We hope to leverage his expertise to enhance our offerings for local investors, as well as expand the range of our locally relevant solutions over time," Serhan said.
Before joining Morningstar, Schiller worked for Standard and Poor's for 25 years, most recently managing its Ratings and IQ Capital divisions.
