Jonathan Armitage has moved into the role of chief investment officer of MLC Investment Management following the departure of Nicky Richards in August last year.
Armitage had been acting CIO for the past five months and MLC executive general manager of asset management Garry Mulcahy said he "was the clear leading candidate" from the group's external search process.
As CIO, Armitage assumes overall responsibility for the investment outcomes of the MLC Investment Management team.
Before his appointment, he had been MLC's head of equities, leading the team responsible for restructuring the business' Australian and internal share strategies.
"We look forward to the continued evolution of MLC's in-house investment capabilities under his stewardship," Mulcahy said.
