Major insurer Metlife is expected to announce the appointment of a new Australian chief executive within the next few weeks.
The company confirmed late last year the intended departure of incumbent chief executive Marc Lieberman, and it is understood that a recruitment process has been underway which has canvassed both Australian-based and offshore candidates.
Lieberman has held the Australian CEO role since 2010.
The announcement of the new CEO appointment is expected to coincide with Metlife's announcement of a major new mandate in the life/risk space capable of significantly expanding the insurer's local market share.
