AMP Limited chief executive, Craig Meller will leave the company at the end of the year.
The AMP Board announced to the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) today that Meller would retire around the end of 2018 and that the search had been started for his replacement.
AMP chairperson, Catherine Brenner said the search would involve both internal and external candidates from domestic and international markets.
Commenting on Meller’s impending departure, Brenner said the CEO had indicated his intentions during regular discussions with the board about succession planning.
She said today’s announcement was designed to ensure the search process could be as transparent and comprehensive as possible.
“Craig has led the transformation of AMP over the last five years. The business has a clear and compelling strategy for growth and is performing well,” Brenner said.
