Matthews Steer Chartered Accountants has announced a boost to its accounting and financial planning teams with two senior appointments. Harry Chemay has been appointed financial planning manager, with Mark Lane as the new team manager and client manager.
Chemay has over 16 years experience in finance and investment. In his new role with the Melbourne-based accounting firm, he will advise clients on a range of planning issues including self-managed superannuation funds.
Chemay has previously worked as an investment consultant at Mercer, and before that as a financial planner at WHK Smith Read Prescott, specialising in self-managed super. He is also a fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia, and a certified investment management analyst.
Lane is a qualified chartered accountant with over 20 years experience in the accounting profession. In his new position, he will help clients with their accounting matters such as taxation, business services, planning, and advisory needs, while also managing one of the company’s accounting teams.
Lane’s previous experience as an accountant includes consulting to business in agriculture, retail, transport and manufacturing, as well as consulting to high net worth individuals and investors.
