Outsider now knows that Tinder is, according to Wikipedia, a ‘dating app’ which is apparently widely used by those born during or after the 1980s which might be quite a sad indictment of how much things have changed since Outsider spotted the future Mrs O across a crowded room on what proved to be quite an enchanted evening.
Well, in point of fact, Outsider met Mrs O in a bar whilst on holiday in Fiji, but armed with tried and true conversational lines and an unwarranted degree of self-belief he set about seeking to win her heart, or at least a second date and the rest is (very ancient) history. Mrs O is nothing if not charitable.
Outsider knows nothing about Tinder and feels somewhat sad that anyone should need a device such as a smart phone to break the ice. He much preferred the good old days of chatting up potential romantic interests in bars, while cutting moves at community dance halls and even at the odd bachelor and spinster’s ball.
So, Tinder, schminder, Outsider will continue to go old school when it comes to making sparks fly.
