Macquarie’s financial educational and information service arm, Macquarie Digital, has made its service more accessible to the broader community with the launch of its own website.
The online facility is an extension of the Macquarie Digital datacasting channel that was set up as part of the Federal Government’s datacasting trial for digital television in Sydney and will provide consumers with free financial information and expert analysis.
The development of the website was driven by consumer demand for greater information regarding the finance sector.
Until now access to the service had only been available to those people with access to digital television.
Macquarie Digital project manager Jackie Gambrell believes the website will benefit both investors and financial advisers.
“It is useful for people to have some background information on the financial options that are available to them before they speak to a financial adviser and that is where we see our website fitting in,” she said.
“The Macquarie Digital website also caters for advisers who want an overview of new products before they invest their time to read through the fine detail,” Gambrell added.
The website will contain new daily content covering topics such as economic issues, changes in the property market, analysis for personal investors, new financial products, and significant stock events.
Users will be required to complete a registration form before they can access the site.
