Local Government Super (LGS) has emerged a winner from the Australian Property Institute NSW Excellence in Property Awards.
The fund announced that its Carnegie Morgan Hill House had won its second award of the year by securing the Environmental Award.
It said the award related to LGS's office building at 120 Sussex Street, Sydney, with the judges citing "its various sustainability features and achievements, in addition to the well-executed design and development of the project".
Commenting on the award, LGS chief executive Peter Lambert said the fund was leading the industry in the greening of older office buildings in Australia in a way that had the potential to revolutionise how owners and managers retrofitted their buildings in the future.
"These building upgrades significantly reduce energy consumption across our property portfolio, lowering running costs and improving the investment returns for our members," he said.
