J.P Morgan Asset Management has recruited former Australian Unity and BNY Mellon executive Stephen Alcorn in a bid to expand its presence in the institutional space.
As head of institutional, Australia, Alcorn will be responsible for the local client advisory team but also work with Singapore-based head of sovereign and institutional, Rachel Farrell, to deliver global solutions.
“Stephen brings to J.P. Morgan Asset Management extensive local market experience and will create strategic advantages for our clients by connecting them with our international network and delivering customised investment solutions,” Farrell said.
The institutional veteran has 25 years in the field, most recently as head of institutional at Australian Unity Investments.
Previously, Alcorn was deputy managing director and head of institutional at BNY Mellon Asset Management Australia.
His appointment comes as J.P Morgan Asset Management looks to build its institutional footprint.
It also follows its recent expansion into the wholesale market, with the launch of its funds business.
