Sydney-based software vendor Omnium has found a way to use the popularity of the latest technology gadgets, by launching the first iPhone application (app) for comprehensive life insurance quotes.
The industry figures are already calling it the easiest and fastest way to quote life insurance, as the new app returns up-to-date premiums from 12 major life companies in seconds.
Commenting on the new platform, founder of privately owned Omnium Dr David King said: “iPhone apps or mobile phone apps in general are beginning to shape the way people consume, so we thought it was necessary to leverage the online solutions we have already developed for the industry into a quick and easy-to-use iPhone app — and the response so far has been amazing.”
King also said the move could form a whole new approach to solving the current problem of underinsurance in Australia, as 40 per cent of the market owns an iPhone.
Five free apps have been launched, with both industry professionals and general public being targeted as potential users.
