InvestorWeb Research has responded angrily to recent press reports that there was some question mark over the continuation of its research operations following the merger betweenIWLand sharemarket information systems provider Iress.
“We have recently increased the strength of both the equities and managed funds analyst teams. The combined strength of 12 analysts gives us one of the strongest teams of any of the research houses,” InvestorWeb chief operating officer for Research Toby Potter says.
While admitting that it was still too early in the merger process for the most effective integration path to have been fully mapped out in more than the broadest terms, Potter says that as the only research house to be able to combine analytical research with IRESS’s data capability, it expects to be able to make a powerful product offering to both IRESS and VisiPlan users.
In July, IWL, the parent of InvestorWeb Research, announced that it would merge with Iress, prompting speculation about the future of InvestorWeb Research.
