National Australia Bank has recruited internally to fill the key position at the head of its Apogee Financial Planning operation.
The big banking group announced it had appointed long-serving MLC executive, Brendan Johnson, as the new general manager of Apogee.
In doing so, it noted that Johnson brought 17 years of experience across financial planning, practice management, and compliance fields and had joined MLC in 2002.
It said Johnson has held a number of senior roles, including state manager for MLC’s Licensee Businesses, and national manager for the MLC Risk Specialist Network.
Confirming the appointment, NAB Wealth general manager advice partnerships Ross Barnwell described Johnson as a strong leader and a passionate advice advocate.
“Apogee Financial Planning licenses over a hundred businesses across Australia that provide either integrated financial services solutions, or specialist financial planning services, to both individuals and business owners. I am confident that Brendan, along with the wider Apogee team, will lead Apogee to new levels of success” he said.
Johnson starts in his new role today.
