ING has announced it is partnering with insurance information website ‘the risk store’ as a founding sponsor.
This follows the website’s launch of a face-to-face life risk education initiative, which will see one-day training courses operating in Sydney and Melbourne for advisers.
ING head of marketing and retail products for life risk Mark Vilo said the development of the risk school, which will utilise the expertise of Chris Unwin, a well-known trainer on the life risk advice process, prompted the partnership.
“We have been watching the growth of the web-based business and have seen the mandate extend to offering face-to-face learning opportunities as well as the site content and services,” he explained.
“We want to get on board now and enjoy the upswing of the business as a partner not a spectator.”
Sue Laing, managing director of the risk store, said the launch of the risk school had generated a rush of interest from advisers.
“This has cemented our belief that there is a need which we are filling, and having insurers get behind us and our efforts is crucial to the business,” she said.
Zurich and Tower are also supporting the new venture as founding sponsors.
