Big retail industry fund, REST has moved to increase its financial planning offer to members with the appointment of a national manager, advice.
The superannuation fund announced that it had appointed former ipac and BT Financial Group staffer, Deborah Potts, to the role.
Confirming the appointment, REST chief executive, Damian Hill said Potts would lead the provision and development of REST’s advice services, which aim to achieve greater uptake of financial advice amongst members.
He said Potts had been working as a consultant with REST since October, last year.
“Now as a permanent employee, she’ll be responsible for establishing REST’s advice team and implementing the advice strategy. This is a new function which will significantly benefit our members,” Hill said.
REST also announced the creation of a new role of general manager, customer wervice and appointed Beth Parkin, while former VicSuper head of fixed income, Ronan Walsh, was appointed as general manager, investments.
