HUB24 has announced the appointment of a former Challenger chief financial officer to its board of directors.
Rachel Grimes joined HUB24 with more than 30 years’ experience across financial services and accounting. This included various senior executive roles at BT Financial Group, Westpac Bank, and Challenger Limited.
Most recently, she held the position of chief financial officer at Challenger Limited up until October 2022, where she oversaw Challenger Bank Limited’s sales process alongside her role as CFO.
In addition, Grimes was the chief financial officer at Westpac Group and held other roles across finance, M&A, and product and sales.
At HUB24, Grimes would initially serve as a member of the audit, risk, and compliance committee.
She was a fellow of the Institute of Public Accountants, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, and CPA Australia. Grimes also became a Member of the Order of Australia in 2022 for her services to business in the field of accountancy and to professional associations.
Bruce Higgins, chairman of HUB24, looked forward to Grimes’ senior contribution as director at HUB24.
“Rachel’s broad executive experience across finance, business strategy and M&A for large ASX listed companies combined with her extensive experience as a director in the not-for-profit sector, further strengthens and expands the board skill set,” he said.
The new director was currently the deputy chair of the Digital Finance Cooperative Research Centre and a director of the Accounting Professional & Ethical Standards Board.
Moreover, she was previously the president of the International Federation of Accountants and the president of Chartered Accountants in Australia.
