Major life insurer, TAL has made a key appointment to its specialist life/risk advice business, Affinia.
The company announced this week that former senior AMP executive, Steve Helmich, had been appointed chairman of the Affinia business with internal appointee, Marcus O’Sullivan being named to head the business.
Current Affinia head, Craig Parker is expected to take a new role within TAL
TAL describes Affinia as being a specialised licensee of independent risk advisers and offers advisers a life risk business culture with rigorous compliance frameworks, technology tools, and professional development.
TAL Group chief executive, Brett Clark said Affinia had ambitious growth plans over the next three years and the appointments of Helmich and O’Sullivan would help drive the execution of Affinia’s strategy.
“We are very excited that Steve will chair the Affinia Board,” Clark said.
“Steve has had an outstanding career in financial services and financial advice in particular.”
Referring to Parker, Clark thanked him for his leadership and noted that he had launched the business and made it what it is today.
“We are currently working with Craig on new opportunities within TAL,” he said.
