There are significant changes underway within Platypus Asset Management revolving around the departure of the company’s co-founder and chief investment officer, Donald Williams.
The company announced this week that Williams would be stepping down from his investment and management responsibilities due to health reasons but would remain involved in the business in an advisory and mentoring role.
The company said Platypus co-founder, Nick Wright, had been appointed chairman, with Rohan Mead becoming deputy chair, while Platypus’ chief operating officer, Gary Adamson, would assume the role of chief executive officer.
Prasad Patkar, who has been deputy portfolio manager for a number of years, will assume the role of head of qualitative investments, with responsibility for the management of the flagship investment portfolios and the oversight of the fundamental investment team and processes, which remain otherwise unchanged.
Peter Brooke, portfolio manager for Platypus’ systematic portfolios, has been appointed head of quantitative investments.
