David Hartley has left his position as chief investment officer (CIO) of Mercer Trusts, after being with theMercer Investment Consultinggroup for 13 years.
The group says Hartley has left his role “for other opportunities in the industry”, and that the Mercer team was sorry to lose him.
Hartley had been with Mercer for 13 years, playing an instrumental role in building the Mercer Trust investment portfolios and focusing on investment and strategy for the Mercer Trusts.
Mercer says it will re-evaluate the scope and role of the CIO position and commence a search for a suitable replacement shortly.
In the meantime, Mercer principal Simon Eagleton will step into the role of acting CIO.
National practice leader of Mercer Investment Consulting, Christopher Andrews, says direct impact on clients will be minimal, given Eagleton’s knowledge of the Mercer Trusts.
