The Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees (AIST) will today launch a 12-month program for women interested in becoming trustee directors of superannuation funds on the back of $150,000 in funding from the Federal Government.
The program, to be launched by the Minister for Financial Services, Bill Shorten, has been dubbed the "Super Springboard" and is intended to offer comprehensive training, mentoring and networking opportunities.
The program will range across a variety of specialist areas including the AIST's Trustee Director course.
The AIST said participants would also attend the Conference of Major Superannuation Funds (CMSF) as well receive as complimentary membership of both the AIST and Women in Super.
AIST CEO Fiona Reynolds said priority for the 10 scholarship places would be given to funds that currently have no women on their board or only one female director.
