Former journalist, radio presenter and public affairs executive, Sally Loane has been appointed to succeed John Brogden as chief executive of the Financial Services Council.
Brogden announced his departure from the FSC earlier this year and will take up a new role as chief executive of the Australian Institute of Company Directors in January.
Loane’s appointment was confirmed by FSC chairman, Greg Cooper, this week and he specifically referenced her experience in media and corporate reputation.
“Her skills and experience will be critical as financial services moves from an era of the most significant changes in regulation and legislation in its history to its next phase of being an export and growth industry for Australia,” he said.
Loane has worked within both the ABC and newspapers and was most recently in charge of public affairs at Coca Cola Amatil.
