Mid-tier accounting and advisory firm, Bentleys, has appointed former head of the Sydney Stock Exchange, Tony Sacre, as its new chief executive officer.
Sacre would bring almost 25 years’ experience in banking and financial markets, with roles at ANZ, Commonwealth Bank, the Bank of Sydney, the AME Group, NAB, JP Morgan and HSBC.
Sacre said given the firm’s extensive footprint in Australia, New Zealand and China, it was well-placed to capitalise on the changes facing the accounting and advisory sector, including new technologies and increased competition.
“The SME sector continues to emerge as the engine room in many economies around the world, and particularly so in Australia,” he said. “Advice is critical to SME success, and Bentleys is at the forefront of providing this guidance to business.”
Chair of Bentley’s national management board, Martin Power, said Sacre’s skills would prove valuable to the firm, especially in the resources and agribusiness sector.
