Former Future Fund general manager Paul Costello has been appointed as non-executive chairman of global investment and advisory firm, Blackstone.
Blackstone announced Costello’s appointment today, saying he would report to Blackstone’s president Tony James and the company’s private equity head in the Asia-Pacific, Michael Chae.
Commenting on Costello’s appointment, Chae said Australia represented a market of long-term importance to Blackstone because of the increasing number of institutions which were choosing to invest with the company and "as a source of attractive investment opportunities for our funds".
"Paul’s background superbly positions him to guide us as we grow the business in Australia and New Zealand," he said.
