Matthew Lambert has been appointed head of quantitative portfolio management for the Asia Pacific region at Northern Trust Asset Management (NTAM).
He would be responsible for delivering NTAM’s diverse range of quantitative solutions and insights to institutional investors in Australia and New Zealand.
Prior to the newly-created role, Lambert had spent over a decade as the lead portfolio manager for core Australian equities portfolios and tactical asset allocation strategies at Franklin Templeton.
He joined the industry in 1998 as a quantitative analyst at Citibank.
NTAM’s Australasia head, Bert Rebelo, believed the appointment would expand the firm’s Australian footprint.
“With more than 25 years of experience building alpha and risk models for equity and fixed income portfolios across Australia, Asia and emerging markets, Matthew will be a great complement to our global quantitative portfolio management team and our clients across the region,” Rebelo stated.
Northern Trust operated in Australia from offices in Melbourne and Sydney.
