The former Equity Trustees chief investment officer George Boubouras has been appointed to the same role at Contango Asset Management succeeding company founder David Stevens in the role.
Contango announced the appointment this morning and said the appointment of Boubouras was part of a new growth phase for the group which would see Stevens continue in another, yet unannounced, capacity.
Boubouras said his appointment would result in incremental change at Contango with the group evolving into a more diverse investment house and offering clients a broader portfolio of investments.
Boubouras was with Equity Trustees for 18 months, until September last year, and left the group after a strategic review of that business. Prior to that he was chief investment officer at UBS and has also held roles at Macquarie Bank, Challenger and HSBC.
