Saul Eslake, who earlier this week announced that he would resign from his position as chief economist of ANZ, will take up the position of program director for productivity growth at think tank the Grattan Institute.
He will lead an investigation into the key drivers of national productivity growth.

He is a perfect fit with the Grattan Institute’s mission to make a significant contribution to the national public policy debate,” Grattan Institute chief executive John Daley said.
Eslake said it was necessary to tackle national productivity performance and its implications for government policy.
He will take up his position on August 11.
