The pending retirement of the joint managing director of Goldman Sachs JBWere (GSJBW) equities products has resulted in a changing of the guard, with the group moving to reassign the remaining director to a new portfolio focused on strategic direction.
With Peter Wade announcing he will retire from GSJBW next March after 25 years with the group, executive stable mate Justin Arter will move to the newly created position of managing director – firmwide strategy.
Arter will report through to GSJBW co-chief operating officers Craig Drummond and Andrew Stuart and provide advice to the management committee on strategic direction for GSJBW.
Filling the gap left by Arter and Wade is David Evans, also an existing GSJBW staffer, who moves from his current role as managing director – retail, a position he has held for the past five years.
Also shuffling positions is Paul Health, currently the co-head of GSJBW’s full service retail advisory and Sydney private clients divisions.
Health moves to the role of managing director – retail, with responsibility for the firm’s entire retail financial services business.
