Former Tower Life Australia managing director Ken Boag has joined Rice Walker Actuaries as a senior consultant.
Boag left Tower in August 2002 after the group’s wealth management and risk insurance businesses were merged into a single operation.
His move to Rice Walker comes just weeks before Tower is set to split the two businesses, with the wealth management arm to be separately listed on the Australian Stock Exchange.
In his new role Boag will focus on developing the Sydney-based firm’s management consulting activities – a task which will include high level strategic work and merger and acquisition activity.
Before joining Rice Walker, Boag was chief executive of financial services group Adviser Resources.
At Tower, Boag was influential in the acquisition of a number of businesses including Friends Provident, FAI Life and Bridges Financial Planning.
“I have known Ken as a valued client for many years and I am looking forward to the benefits he will bring to Rice Walker through his experience and market knowledge,” Rice Walker Actuaries principle Michael Rice said.
Boag said he was “excited about the opportunity” to work for the actuarial consultants.
