Principal Global Investors has announced the appointment of formerSchroder Investment Managementhead of sales and marketing, Alex Francois, as director of institutional sales.
The appointment of Francois, with over 19 years industry experience, follows on the heels of Kirk West’s recent appointment as managing director of Principal’s Australian business.
Francois, who has also previously held the role of director, client relationships atDeutsche Asset Management, will focus on the sale of Principal’s product range into the institutional and platform markets.
“Principal Global Investors has a distinctive range of local and global capabilities, which are highly relevant to the Australian market place and Alex will play an important role in promoting these,” West says.
West has spent the last three years as managing director of Principal’s European business, and takes over his new role from Michael Migro, who will relocate to New York to take up the role of chief operating officer for Principal.
Previously the direct and listed property arms of theBT Funds Managementgroup, Principal was retained by Principal Financial Services when BT was bought by Westpac and rebranded for the Australian market.
