TIAA-CREF-owned company, TH Real Estate has announced the impending retirement of its chief executive, James Darkins.
The company released a statement this week saying that Darkins would continue in his role until the end of August and would remain within the business until the end of the year to allow a smooth transition to his successor, Mike Sales.
Darkins was described in the announcement as having been fundamental to the formation of TH Real Estate last year as a result of expansion of the Henderson real estate business throughout Europe and the Asia Pacific.
It said that Darkins had spent over 30 years in the real estate industry and 17 years with the company, having originally joined AMP in New Zealand, as head of Property in 1998.
Sales, who is currently, Managing Director, Europe, will take over as Head of TH Real Estate from 1 September.
