The Commonwealth has launched itself in to general insurance broking market with an insurance service for private motor vehicles.
The new service will be operating out of the bank’s popular Internet share and managed funds broking arm Comsecand will allow users to compare and purchase car insurance on the web.
The Commonwealth’s head of Banking and Financial Services, John Mulcahy, says the site pro-vides quotes from four insurance companies: CGU, Allianz’s DirecDial Insurance, FAI and Royal and SunAlliance.
“We are providing people with better choice, value and time savings in an area that has tradition-ally been a difficult and time consuming purchase,” Mulcahy says.
“(The service) is aimed at people who have good driving records with existing 50 per cent or higher no claim bonus from their current insurance company.”
