Colonial First State (CFS) has restructured its marketing department to bring marketing functions closer to the areas they support, resulting in the retrenchment of the division’s boss of two years, Rebecca Murray.
The top marketing executive will now be Danielle Murrie, who had overseen the group’s marketing to Commonwealth Bank-aligned channels, as well as to external advisers.
Murrie will now report directly to CFS chief executive John Pearce, rather than Rebecca Murray as she had in the past. Some of the departed Murray’s responsibilities have also been taken up by Richard Nunn, the general manager of distribution.
A CFS spokesperson said the restructure aimed for clearer accountability and more relevant reporting lines in marketing.
For example, head of brand and advertising, Peter Duvall, will no longer report to the general manager of marketing, but to general manager of strategy Nicolette Rubinsztein.
