Graeme Downie has been appointed as the chairman of City Pacific, replacing Ian Donaldson. Donaldson’s resignation as chairman and independent non-executive director was foreshadowed at the company’s annual general meeting in November.
Downie is the current non-executive director at City Pacific. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and has 25 years experience in practice, including 12 as a consultant to the former Coopers and Lybrand. He is a specialist consultant in his field and was appointed by the Queensland Government as a trustee of the Jupiters Casino Community Benefits Fund.
“I am delighted that Graeme has agreed to take on the role of non-executive chairman of City Pacific. Graeme’s proven business acumen and wealth of experience will be strong assets to City Pacific as the company faces the current difficult environment and positions itself to meet future challenges,” said the chief executive and managing director of City Pacific, John Ellis.
Ellis thanked Donaldson for his 11 years of service to the company.
