Colonial First State Global Asset Management (CFSGAM) has announced a number of senior appointments in the Global Resources investment team, bringing the total headcount to nine.
Joining the company from Merrill Lynch, Mark Hume has been appointed senior energy analyst. In his role at CFSGAM, Hume will be responsible for coverage and selection of energy stocks. His previous experience also includes working for energy consultants Wood Mackenzie, and as a sell-side analyst in the UK.
With over seven years of experience in the industry, Rebecca O’Dwyer will perform the role of senior mining analyst, while Rupert Cole has been appointed as the team’s investment manager.
Cole joins the team from the institutional and business banking team at parent company Commonwealth Bank, where he worked as projects and analytics manager.
All three will report to CFSGAM head of global resources, Dr Jo Warner, who said he was pleased with the new appointments.
“All three are extremely experienced and talented professionals. Their skill set will complement the technical experience already within the team,” said Warner.
Hume and O’Dwyer will commence their respective positions in September, while Cole will join the team in August.
The new appointments make CFSGAM the largest fund manager in Australia.
