Active equity manager with a focus on Australian small companies, Celeste Funds Management has appointed Martin Byers, a former UBS executive director and head of emerging companies research, as its new senior industrial analyst.
Byers spent past 10 years at UBS and has extensive experience in analysing Australian smaller companies, and also worked for five years with US-based fund manager, Principal Global Investors, as a senior equity analyst covering industrial and technology stocks.
At the same time, the company promoted its senior investment analyst, Paul Biddle, to a position of portfolio manager.
He would continue to work with Frank Villante, Celeste’s chief investment officer and portfolio manager, on the construction and management of the firm’s portfolios.
Celeste, which runs Australian Small Companies Fund, is owned by the investment team and currently has $460 million in funds under management.
