Fund manager, Bennelong Long Short Equity Management (BLSEM), has added to its investment team.
The company announced this week it had appointed Justin Hay as senior investment analyst, to further strengthen its investment capability.
It said Hay had extensive investment management and Australian equities experience and had joined the company from Optimal Fund Management Australia where he was senior investment analyst, where he undertook fundamental research on equities, provided portfolio management support and analysed macro-economic factors as a member of the research team for the Optimal Australia Absolute Return Trust.
It said that Hay had previously also been an executive director – institutional research sales with Goldman Sachs Australia.
Confirming the appointment, BLSEM principal and director, Richard Fish, said he was delighted the boutique business had been able to attract someone with Hay’s exceptional talent.
BLSEM was launched in 2002 and currently manages two funds – Bennelong Long Short Equity Fund and the Bennelong Market Neutral Fund – both of which are currently soft closed.
