Bennelong Long Short Equity Management (BLSEM) has appointed Justin Hay as its new senior investment analyst.
Hay, who has extensive investment management and Australian equities experience that spans 18 years, joined BLSEM in August from Optimal Fund Management Australia where he held a similar position.
In his previous role, Hay was responsible for undertaking fundamental research on equities and analysing macro-economic factors as a member of the research team for the Optimal Australia Absolute Return Trust.
Prior to this, he was an executive director, institutional research sales, at Goldman Sachs Australia.
BLSEM’s principal and director, Richard Fish, said: “Justin brings with him extensive experience and industry insights.
We have deepened our specialist long short equities talent pool substantially over the past couple of years.
The team, which is now six strong is more robust than ever, which enables us to focus on our ongoing ability to deliver quality investment management solutions to investors”.
BLSEM also announced that in June, another analyst, Daniel Sanelli, joined its ranks as the company was working towards enhancing its operational capabilities of the investment team.
