Investment manager BlackRock has made two key appointments.
The company announced this week it had appointed Charlie Lanchester as Head of Australian Fundamental Equities and Madeleine Beaumont as Senior Portfolio Manager, Australian Fundamental Equities.
Announcing the appointments, the company said they represented an expansion of BlackRock’s investment capabilities and reflected widening investor appetites for the compelling investment opportunities throughout the region as BlackRock grew its business in Australia and Asia Pacific.
Lanchester was previously the Deputy Head of Australian Equities at Perpetual Investments while Beaumont has more than 20 years’ experience in funds management and stockbroking, holding numerous senior roles including Fund Manager and Head of European Research at M&G Investments in London, and Equity analyst at Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken (London) and Salomon Brothers (Sydney).
The announcement said the pair would start at BlackRock on 1 June and would be charged with building out a fundamental equities team and developing a product offering for clients.
