Former National Australia Bank (NAB) financial planning executive Jonathan Ayres has moved to the newly established Bank of Melbourne to head up its private division.
The appointment was announced by general manager of private wealth at BT Financial Group Jane Watts, who said Ayres’ main role would be driving growth for Bank of Melbourne Private.
Ayres spent 10 years in various senior positions at NAB, including head of financial planning for NAB Private and as a regional executive.
Most recently, he was a senior investment specialist with NABInvest.
"[Jonathan] has a strong private banking background, strategic financial advisory expertise and a deep understanding of wealth management and the needs of high net worth clients," Watts said.
Westpac launched the Bank of Melbourne in March this year, which will see a rebranding of St George branches in Victoria.
