Tony D’Aloisio
The Australian Securities and InvestmentsCommission (ASIC) has appointed Bruce Dodd as its regional commissioner in Western Australia and the head of the emerging mining and resources stakeholder team.
ASIC chairman Tony D’ Aloisio said Dodd would deliver efficient and cost effective services to local stakeholders.
“One of the changes resulting from ASIC’s strategic review was to strike a better balance between national and regional initiatives through additional resources in capital cities such as Perth. The appointment of a senior executive with Bruce Dodd’s experience will give Western Australia a higher profile within ASIC.”
ASIC recently appointed 12 leaders for its new stakeholder teams, in a restructure designed to improve ASIC’s response to market changes. At the time of these announcements the position of head of emerging mining and resources stakeholder team was unfilled. Regional commissioners report directly to the ASIC chairman and commissioners.
Dodd was a former senior partner and partner in charge at Mallesons Stephen Jaques, specialising in commercial dispute resolution in insurance, insolvency and bank litigation.
