ANZ has appointed Mike Norfolk head of private banking Australia.
Norfolk joins ANZ from Coutts and Co., the wealth division of Royal Bank of Scotland, where he was most recently the London-based head of private banking since March 2011.
Commenting on the appointment, ANZ Global Wealth chief executive officer Joyce Phillips said the bank was focused on delivering a distinctive private banking proposition and access to investment capabilities across the Asia Pacific region.
"Mike is an experienced private banker, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional service to clients," Phillips said.
Norfolk has almost 20 years banking experience, including 15 years in private banking.
He also held a number of senior leadership roles with Coutts between 1998 and 2010, where he was responsible for leading large teams to drive long-term sustainable growth in the UK wealth management business.
Norfolk will be based in Sydney and will commence in early 2014.
