AMP has launched a new version of its Ascend SMSF service, which will be rolled out to its entire financial advice network over the second half of 2012.
The new version will feature an improved online service, better reporting, instant online access to fund information and the ability for planners to complete a new self-managed super fund (SMSF) application a lot quicker, the company said.
Furthermore, the new service will have additional investment options, such as AMP's North platform and PortfolioCare, and the Australian Money Market term deposit service.
Unlike the original Ascend service launched in 2009, the new offering would be rolled out to AMP's entire financial planning network, starting with AMP Financial Planning and Hillross.
The launch came just weeks after AMP announced the formation of a whole new business unit dedicated to this sector – AMP SMSF – led by managing director Paul Sainsbury.
"Ascend SMSF recognises the growing role of financial planners in the SMSF sector by providing a high level of support to deliver high quality solutions to SMSF customers," he said.
There will be two options within Ascend – a basic Essentials service and Platinum for more sophisticated clients.
