AMP is offering grants of up to a million a year to Australians who are looking to make a mark of society, but lack the financial backing.
In response to an AMP and Newspoll survey which found 60 per cent of Australians' talents were restricted by a lack of capital, AMP launched the Tomorrow Fund, which aims to stimulate innovation.
The size of the grants will vary between $10,000 and $1 million, depending on the proposal, and will be judged by a panel from backgrounds in social enterprise, science, the arts and technology.
"It might be a community project, an invention, social enterprise or maybe something left-of-field that has never been attempted before like setting an obscure world record. We'd like to give a helping hand to go out and fulfil that dream," AMP director of media and community relations, Julia Quinn, said.
"Money shouldn't always be the obstacle for talented people who have a commitment to something that will make a difference in Australia," she added.
Applications are now open at www.ampstomorrowfund.com.au/ and close on August 31.
