AMP is teaming up with the financial services education provider Pinnacle to introduce a new qualification to be run through AMP’s Horizons Academy from January 2011.
AMP describes the introduction of the Diploma of Financial Services as a way for the firm to demonstrate commitment to raising the standards of education in the financial planning industry.
The move came following recent calls by the financial planning industry for higher education and professional standards.
AMP Horizons director Tim Steele said during the recruitment process at the Horizons Academy, “we recognised there was a large candidate base looking for the opportunity to complete their Diploma of Financial Services”.
AMP confirmed Pinnacle Financial Services Academy would be the provider of the six-month course, which will be run through the Sydney-based AMP Horizons Academy
