Financialplanning firm Accent Investment Services is to become part of the HLB Mann Judd Financial Services group, following its parent MGI Meyrick Webster joining the national accounting firm.
The financial planning consulting arm of Accent — Pivotal — will become Mann Judd Consulting as of March 1. The deal sees the Mann Judd group return to Victoria.
Mann Judd had previously operated a Melbourne accounting and financial planning firm but this was sold and then branded under the Stockford group of companies.
Meyrick Webster, which was formed in 1978 and has 18 partners and 169 staff, operates across all accounting and financial planning areas.
Managing partner Geoff Webster says the deal stems from it scouring the market to link up with a larger national and international accounting group that reflected Meyrick Webster’s growing position in the Melbourne market.
Accent managing director Bob Neill says that, other than the name change, the financial planning operation will remain the same.
The firm operates in Victoria, Canberra and Brisbane, and Neill has ruled out expanding nationally.
“Mann Judd has authorised representatives operating in all states and we are not going to compete with them.”
Neill will retain his position as managing director of the group while Corinna Dieters will continue to run the consulting arm.
