Orbis Investment Management rebrands to Allan Gray Australia
Orbis Investment Management (Australia) has changed its name to Allan Gray Australia – referencing the founder and chairman of the Orbis Group.
The company said that as a result of the name change its two Australian funds – the Orbis/SM Australia Equity Fund and the Orbis/SM Australia Opportunity Fund – would become the Allan Gray Australia Equity Fund and the Allan Gray Australia Opportunity Fund.
Allan Gray Australia managing director Simon Marais said the name change would enable the company to further enhance and build its retail offering.
“In the meantime, it’s business as usual and nothing else changes except the name,” he said.
Marais said the company would be maintaining the same management and investment team, the same ownership structure and the same investment philosophy and processes.
