Albanese adds superannuation to Jones’ portfolio
NSW Labor front-bencher, Stephen Jones will be going head-to-head with the Minister for Superannuation, Financial Services and the Digital Economy, Senator Jane Hume, under a reshuffle announced by the Labor leader, Anthony Albanese today.
Albanese announced that Jones, who was previously just the Shadow minister for Financial Services would be adding “superannuation” to his portfolio putting him on close to and equal footing with Hume.
Senator Katy Gallagher will remain her responsibilities as shadow minister for finance while Jim Chalmers will remain Shadow Treasurer.
The specific addition of superannuation to Jones’ responsibilities comes at the same time as the Government mounts a significant campaign around the future of the superannuation guarantee.
