Fidelity International has announced the appointment of Jenn-Hui Tan as global head of stewardship and sustainable investing.

Tan would be responsible for leadership for Fidelity’s sustainable investing activities globally, including strategy and policies on: engagement; voting; and environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) integration.

He had been with Fidelity for 12 years, previously serving as head of capital markets and corporate governance for Asia Pacific.

He joined as senior legal counsel in 2007 and was previously a solicitor at Norton Rose Fulbright in London.

Tan would be based on Singapore and would be responsible for Fidelity’s ESG teams based in Europe and Asia.

He would report to Paras Anand, head of asset management, Asia Pacific at Fidelity International.

“Fidelity continues to develop its capabilities in this area, most recently with the launch of our own sustainability ratings covering our investible universe of 3,000 issuers,” Anand said.

“We’re delighted to promote Jenn-Hui to this important global role. He has played an instrumental part in building our corporate governance and capital markets capability in Asia, contributing to alpha creation for our portfolios, as well as playing an active role in raising awareness of sustainability issues.”
